For our latest ‘Let’s Meet’, Eurogas hosted a highly informative webinar on methane emissions, as we asked whether the United States and European Union are on track to deliver serious cuts in the coming years. Here in Brussels, towards the end of 2021, the European Commission brought forward a proposal for a methane regulation – now ready for the ‘trilogue’ process in the EU institutions. Across the Atlantic in the United States, the Biden administration has also been working hard on regulation to detect, measure and dramatically reduce methane emissions, notably with elements of the Inflation Reduction Act.
