PODCAST | Gas distributors and the fight against methane emissions.

In this latest edition of Molecule Pod: methane emissions, and what exactly gas distributors are doing about them.

A potent greenhouse gas present in the agriculture, energy, and other sectors, methane is in the spotlight, ahead of this year’s COP28 in the United Arab Emirates. But it’s also a big feature in discussions at EU level. Here we take a look at the work of European gas distribution system operators (or DSOs) and see how upcoming EU legislation could affect how emissions are detected and reduced. We’re joined by Eva Hennig of German DSO Thüga, Leonardo d’Acquisto of Italy’s Italgas, and Renato Winkler of Picarro, a company that measures greenhouse gas concentrations across industrial markets.
