Eurogas in collaboration with World Hydrogen Leaders is pleased to invite you to the Intelligence Day Masterclass session 'Hydrogen Policy Landscapes & Pathways to Net-Zero'.

The session will take place in the framework of the World Hydrogen Week 2024 (30 September-4 October, Bella Center - Copenhagen): join us on 30 September (11:15-12:45).

Session highlights:

The European hydrogen landscape is rapidly evolving thanks to new EU legislations. A deep comprehension of resulting changes and opportunities is now crucial. This masterclass will explore the potential impact of hydrogen energy in the forthcoming decades, both on the resilience of the energy transition and on the likelihood of achieving EU climate and energy targets. Learn how key EU policy initiatives could contribute, such as the Renewable Energy Directive III, the Hydrogen and Decarbonised Gas Market package, FuelEU Maritime, and the Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Regulation (AFIR).

Andreas Guth
Secretary General, Eurogas

Andreas Guth is the Secretary General of Eurogas, a role he has held since September 2024.

Andreas is a seasoned EU affairs professional and Policy Director at Eurogas. With over 15 years of experience in EU affairs in Brussels, he has been at the forefront of policy advocacy in various fields.

In 2019, Andreas joined Eurogas, the leading association representing the gas industry in Europe, as the Policy Director. In this role, he was responsible for the coordination and implementation of the association’s policy work and advocacy strategy, including on all relevant aspects of the Green Deal, Fit for 55, and REPowerEU. Andreas works closely with Eurogas’ members to ensure that their collective voice is heard at European level and that they contribute to shaping the EU’s energy transition agenda.

Before joining Eurogas, Andreas worked for the biofuels industry, where he developed expertise in energy and climate policy. His experience in EU affairs covers a broad range of sectors, including energy, transport, trade and customs policy.

Andreas holds an MA in political science from the University of Maastricht, where he specialized in European integration and governance. He is passionate about contributing to the development of sustainable policies that support the EU’s transition to a low-carbon economy.

Manager, Frontier Economics

Dr. Stefan Lorenczik joined Frontier’s Paris office as a Manager in October 2022, bringing over fourteen years of experience in the energy sector. His diverse background spans consulting, international organisations, and research institutes, where he has advised governments, ministries, regulators, industry associations, and major utilities. Stefan has deep expertise in electricity market design, policy and regulatory issues, and energy market modelling across electricity and adjacent sectors.

Prior to joining Frontier, Stefan served as an Energy Analyst at the International Energy Agency (IEA). There, he created the IEA’s Electricity Market Report, led the Projected Costs of Generating Electricity study, and contributed to further high-profile publications. He also provided strategic counsel to governments on global electricity markets.

Before his tenure at the IEA, Stefan was Manager and Chief Modeller at ewi Energy Research & Scenarios (ewi ER&S). In this role, he led numerous consulting projects, working closely with government bodies, regulators, and industry stakeholders. Stefan was also responsible for overseeing all modelling activities at ewi ER&S.

Stefan holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Cologne.

Svetlana Bochkova
Senior Policy Advisor, Eurogas

Svetlana Bochkova is Senior Policy Advisor at Eurogas, where she oversees the association’s transport activities, covering both maritime and road transport regulations under the Fit for 55 Package and Sustainable and Smart Mobility Strategy.

Prior to joining Eurogas, Svetlana was Key Account Manager at Fluxys, where she managed a portfolio of 70 international shippers, LNG terminal and storage users.

Svetlana holds a Master’s degree in International Security from Science Po Paris and a Master’s degree in International Energy Policy from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations.
