Stefan Lorenczik
Dr. Stefan Lorenczik joined Frontier's Paris office as a Manager in October 2022, bringing over fourteen years of experience in the energy sector. His diverse background spans consulting, international organisations, and research institutes, where he has advised governments, ministries, regulators, industry associations, and major utilities. Stefan has deep expertise in electricity market design, policy and regulatory issues, and energy market modelling across electricity and adjacent sectors.
Prior to joining Frontier, Stefan served as an Energy Analyst at the International Energy Agency (IEA). There, he created the IEA's Electricity Market Report, led the Projected Costs of Generating Electricity study, and contributed to further high-profile publications. He also provided strategic counsel to governments on global electricity markets.
Before his tenure at the IEA, Stefan was Manager and Chief Modeller at ewi Energy Research & Scenarios (ewi ER&S). In this role, he led numerous consulting projects, working closely with government bodies, regulators, and industry stakeholders. Stefan was also responsible for overseeing all modelling activities at ewi ER&S.
Stefan holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Cologne.
