Eurogas Let’s Meet! Union Database: is the EU ready?

Mariana Liakopoulou is a Markets and Policy Associate in the EU liaison office of Energy Traders Europe. In this capacity, she undertakes analysis on aspects of the regulated and voluntary markets for trade in renewable and low-carbon gases and associated certificates. She moreover focuses on the French, UK and CSEE gas market regulatory frameworks, supporting the work of the pertinent Energy Traders Europe Task Forces. Mariana also serves as Research Analyst in the Energy Security Program of the NATO Association of Canada. She has previously worked as a consultant (member of the Roster of Experts) for the Energy Community and has completed her internship in the Director’s Office of EU ACER. She started out as Research Fellow in Energy Security with Caspian Policy Center (Washington D.C.)

She joined CertifHy in May 2023 as a Stakeholder Platform manager.
She is a graduate from both the Bordeaux Political Science Institute and the Paris-Dauphine University. She cumulates more than five years of professional experience in the energy sector. She previously worked in the Strategic Department of the French Gas Distribution System operator, where she developed an expertise in energy regulation and traceability mechanisms. She was notably the project manager for the French registry for guarantees of origin for biomethane for two years, where she delt with the implication of the EU regulation on certification of energy attribute certificates.
