Eurogas Welcomes New Member: Mitsubishi Corporation

Mitsubishi Corporation (MC) is glad to be the very first Japanese corporate member of Eurogas.

We are a global integrated business enterprise that develops and operates businesses together with its global network of around 1,700 group companies. MC operates across virtually every industry: Environmental Energy, Materials Solution, Mineral Resources, Urban Development & Infrastructure, Mobility, Food Industry, Smart Life Creation, and Power Solution (as of April 2024). Through these 8 Business Groups, MC’s current activities have expanded far beyond its traditional trading operations to include project development, production and manufacturing operations, working in collaboration with our trusted partners around the globe. With an unwavering commitment to conducting business with integrity and fairness, MC remains fully dedicated to growing its businesses while contributing to a prosperous society.

In Europe, MC has 13 offices and more than 20 Group companies operating in a variety of fields such as power, mobility, chemicals, metals and food, just to name a few. In addition, Europe has been at the forefront of Energy Transformation (EX) initiatives, which MC is committed to undertake as one of the main pillars of its growth strategy as shown in its Midterm Corporate Strategy 2024. While we recognise the importance of existing energy sources such as LNG that support our lives now, we are striving to pave the way for the 2050 CN through power of business in next-generation energy fields such as renewable power, hydrogen and its derivatives (including e-Natural Gas), biofuels and carbon management. Together with our DX capabilities, MC creates the sustainable Energy Transformation pathway for Europe and the world by investing total 2 trillion JPY (approx. 13.5b USD) in Energy Transformation globally by 2030.

However in reality, realising the Energy Transformation requires structural changes for society, which is a very complex task and poses enormous challenges. Moreover, the world has been facing a series of unforeseen crises and the market uncertainty has been drastically increasing. In order to pursue Energy Transformation initiatives in this challenging time, we believe it is essential to work together with like-minded partners such as other members of Eurogas. Eurogas provides us with an excellent platform to share expertise and insight between members. Together with the quality and timely intelligence that Eurogas’ team puts out, we can certainly have clearer insight for navigating through the current complex business environment and make good decisions to create better future. We are very much looking forward to deepening our partnership with Eurogas and its members.
