Ryota Kuzuki

Ryota Kuzuki's business career began in 1989 when he joined Tokyo Gas Co.,Ltd. As a precision mechanical engineer, he was mainly responsible for improving safety in gas distribution, including gas valves and flexible fittings equipped with gas leak detection and prevention measures. Subsequently, he worked in the corporate planning department and in the market development section of the commercial and industrial sector. Ryota has about 25 years of experience in engineering related to city gas utilization.

Along with his carrier, Ryota Kuzuki completed a master's degree in precision mechanical engineering at the University of Tokyo in 1989, and a Ph. D degree at Keio University in 2011 in research on the evaluation of non-energy benefits such as energy security, environmental protection of integrated district energy systems.
Ryota Kuzuki also has experience as a secretariat for international conferences in industry, academia, and government. For example, he was Secretary of the International Gas Union's Long-Term Energy Scenarios Study Group from 1995 to 1999 and Deputy Secretary General of the World Sustainable Building Conference 2005 Tokyo (SB05Tokyo) from 2003 to 2005.

In 2017, Ryota Kuzuki was assigned as Senior Manager of the Energy System Planning Department of the Japan Gas Association, mainly responsible for promoting integrated regional energy systems.
Since 2022, Ryota Kuzuki has been in his current position, responsible for establishing certificate schemes for e-methane and biomethane and involved in international GHG accounting rules harmonization in order to promote carbon neutrality in city gas supply with approximately 200 member companies in whole Japan.
