The Joint Energy Associations Group (JEAG) responds to public consultation on REMIT Implementing Regulation revision.
The Joint Energy Association Group (JEAG) has submitted its response to the public consultation by the Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) on the revision of the REMIT Implementing Regulation.
In this, JEAG emphasizes the need for simpler, proportionate data reporting structures and highlights concerns over proposals that could increase burdens on market participants. These concerns focus on the risk of overly complex reporting systems, which could lead to higher operational costs and inefficiencies without delivering clear benefits.
The feedback also addresses key issues around trading strategies, algorithmic trading, and Direct Electronic Access (DEA) requirements. JEAG urges that these elements be carefully aligned with legal provisions to avoid introducing unnecessary regulatory hurdles or compromising market liquidity.
