Eurogas is hiring a Communications Intern | Media Relations, Drafting and Content Creation

Eurogas is hiring a communications intern to support our work with media, content creation and advocacy!

Location: Brussels, Belgium 

Hours: Full time 

Start date: 16 March  

The position: Fixed-term contract of 6 months under a Convention d’immersion professionnelle (CIP), with the possibility of renewal for an additional 6 months. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Monitoring international, EU and specialist media for key developments relating to the gas sector and Eurogas. 
  • Researching, mapping and tracking engagement with media stakeholders.  
  • Contributing to the drafting of press releases, opinion pieces, talking points and other collateral to support media engagement.  
  • Pitching stories to known and new journalist contacts. 
  • Support event communications including promotion on social channels. 
  • Support publication of communications and policy materials on the Eurogas website.  
  • Contributing to the drafting of our Molecules newsletter.  
  • Coming up with new story ideas, brainstorming concepts, working with the Policy team to identify newsworthy development. 
  • Ad hoc support to the Events team, including set up and note-taking for events.  

 

ELIGIBILITY 

  • This position is open only to candidates who are legally authorised to work in Belgium without the need for a work permit or visa sponsorship. 
  • Must have concluded their studies. 
  • Must be Brussels-based. 
  • Must be eligible for a Convention d’immersion professionnelle (CIP) contract.  

 

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR 

  • Strong interest in the EU media landscape and corporate communications, including traditional media and social media, ideally with prior experience in a similar role. 
  • Strong written skills, with experience of drafting original content and communications, including thought pieces, press releases, social media posts, and newsletter articles.  
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail; able to manage multiple tasks and timelines effectively. 
  • Comfortable pitching and networking, with an appetite to land coverage and grow a network of contacts. 
  • Comfortable with online social media and interest in building online campaigns; previous experience managing social media channels is a plus. 
  • Proactive, reliable, and a strong team player with a hands-on attitude. 
  • Excellent command of English (written and spoken); French or other EU languages are an asset. 
  • Previous experience in/familiarity with trade associations is a plus.   
  • Familiarity with broadcast media and production is a plus.  
  • Familiarity with digital platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Office tools (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Forms) is a plus. 
  • Familiarity with design tools (ex. Canva) is a plus. 
  • Familiarity with website content management is a plus.

CONTRACT TERMS 

  • The position will be offered under a Convention d’immersion professionnelle (CIP). It is a fixed-term contract of 6 months, starting 16 March 2026, with the possibility of renewal for an additional 6 months.  
  • The internship is remunerated in line with the standards of European Institutions internships, ensuring competitive compensation. Benefits include holidays (number of days depending on the internship duration), meal vouchers with a face value of €10 per worked day, and a transport allowance.
