Sustainability Certification | #1: Liquefaction by Equivalence in Practice: Fuelling the Maritime Energy Transition

The first webinar of the Eurogas Sustainability Certification Webinar Series will focus on liquefaction by equivalence and its role in enabling the development and deployment of renewable gases, in particular for the maritime sector. 

 The webinar will aim to: 

• Examine the practical implications of the ongoing revision of the EU sustainability certification framework, in particular the revision of Implementing Regulation (EU) 2022/996, for the development and deployment of renewable and low-carbon gases in Europe.  

• Provide technical and industry perspectives on liquefaction by equivalence, including its practical application across different parts of the value chain.  

• Illustrate the relevance of the regulatory framework to emerging business models and investment decisions, including the development of bioLNG and eLNG supply chains and maritime bunkering.  
• Facilitate an informed stakeholder discussion on how the revised certification framework can support the scaling up of renewable gases while maintaining the integrity of the EU sustainability framework.
