Adrian Porfir

He designed Romania's first large-scale integrated CO₂ capture, transportation and storage value chain, code named CARBON HUB CPT-01, one of the country's most ambitious EU-funded infrastructure projects.
He led the team that secured €146M euro from the EU Innovation Fund and now manages the project implementation across a multi-industry consortium spanning building materials, oil & gas, power, chemicals and engineering, coordinating stakeholders from industry partners to government bodies at every level. In parallel, he is the President of Carbon Hub CCUS Association Romania, the national platform he founded to bring together industry leaders, policymakers and academia behind Romania's CCUS agenda. Association membership spans the full CCUS value chain, CO₂ emitters, transport operators, storage developers, engineering and technology providers, academia and NGOs.
Adrian brings almost 30 years of senior leadership in energy-intensive and value-chain industries across South East Europe and Russia, working for market-leading companies in their respective sectors. He has held general management and commercial roles in cement and building materials, steel buildings and insulations.
He holds an engineering degree in Oil & Gas, complemented by executive education at Harvard Business School and IMD.
