Stephan Haupt

After completing a degree in Business at Leipzig University and a double master’s program in International Energy Economics and Business Administration in Leipzig and Moscow, Stephan Haupt held various positions in finance at VNG from 2010 onward.

In 2016 he joined VNG Handel & Vertrieb GmbH, VNG’s sales & trading business, where he served as Head of Planning, Controlling, and Business Unit Strategy. VNG Handel & Vertrieb operates as a wholesaler for natural gas and as an energy service provider in Germany and Europe. The company supplies industrial customers, municipal utilities and distributors, provides risk management and trading services and imports natural gas from several international sources.

In February 2023 Stephan was appointed to the Management Board of VNG Handel & Vertrieb. He is one half of the company’s management duo together with Konstantin von Oldenburg.

In addition to the midstream gas business in Germany, VNG Handel & Vertrieb is operating several businesses in Poland, the Czech Republic, Austria and Italy involving natural gas, biomethane, electricity and energy infrastructure. The company is also developing various hydrogen projects.

Stephan Haupt is married and lives in the countryside near Leipzig, Germany.
