Joshua Romano

Joshua Romano works within the Strategy Department of Gasunie, where he leads elements of the sustainability strategy related to methane emission mitigation, energy efficiency, and gas transmission infrastructure. His work focuses on methane measurement and reporting, OGMP 2.0 implementation, and translating European methane policy into practical operational approaches for transmission system operators. Joshua is actively involved in European standardisation and industry collaboration, including CEN, GERG, and the Marcogaz working group on methane emissions, and regularly contributes to international knowledge‑sharing initiatives on methane mitigation. He combines a strong technical background with a strategic perspective and advocates data‑driven management and digital solutions to support effective decision‑making across the energy sector. Joshua holds two Master of Science (MSc) degrees from the University of Groningen, one in Industrial Engineering and one in Technology and Operations Management.
