Harald Hecking

Harald is the Head of Innovation at Uniper, leading new business development in Green Molecules and Carbon Management. With extensive expertise in start-up M&A, project development, and regulations surrounding CCUS, Bioenergy, and Power-to-X, he has successfully initiated and advanced numerous energy transition projects, from pilot to industry scale. Prior to joining Uniper, Harald advised the German and UK governments, as well as the private sector, on energy transition strategies. He has also worked twice with the International Energy Agency (IEA) and contributed as a reviewer for the World Energy Outlook. Harald holds a PhD in Energy Economics, along with diplomas in Economics and Geoinformation Sciences.
