Fabio Poretti

Fabio Poretti holds a Double Master’s degree in Mechanical engineering –Thermal & Fluid Sciences at the University of Connecticut and in Energy Engineering – Power Production at the Politecnico di Milano. After studies, he worked for four years as a research fellow of the Politecnico di Milano at LEAP (Energy and Environment Laboratory Piacenza), fostering academic investigation into industrial perspective. His activities were mainly concentrated in tailored consultancy in the field of material and energy recovery from residues, in direct contact with Italian and European waste management companies.

Fabio covers the position of Technical & Scientific Officer at CEWEP since 2020. He is responsible for Energy&Climate policies, together with project management and coordination in the Waste-to-Energy industry. Among the different works within CEWEP, Fabio developed as leading author the Climate Roadmap of the European Waste-to-Energy Sector – The Path to Carbon Negative in 2022. In Brussels he is also an active member in several working groups focused on CO2 management and CCUS, such as the European Commission’s Carbon Removals Expert Group on industrial carbon removals and BioCCS.
