We promote gas industry co-operation and represent the European natural gas industry towards the European Union, all other relevant bodies at international level, and last but not least to public opinion.
Natural gas is an important source of energy for the European Union, currently meeting more than 24% of primary energy needs. Eurogas forecasts that this will rise to over 28% by 2020, because of many advantages of natural gas as a fuel.
Just as the 19th and 20th centuries were dominated by coal and oil, the 21st century could be the century when natural gas makes its greatest contribution to meeting Europe's energy requirements.
