The natural gas pipeline network
The natural gas pipeline network is a great technological achievement.
Over 1.400.000 kilometres of pipeline extend across Europe and thousands of kilometres of pipeline interconnections and extensions are being built or planned, to ensure a secure and reliable supply of energy.
In the year 2002, gas flowed through more than 83 million meters, meeting the energy needs of more than 210 million individual customers.
