We started drawing attention to the fact that gas would not only be needed in addition to renewables to keep up energy supply but could also do a cost-efficient job in achieving large greenhouse gas emission reductions quickly.

Today I’ll take you back to last winter. It may seem already a long time ago, but as recently as February the citizens of the Netherlands were hoping for a skating event on natural ice that, as far as the Dutch are concerned, outclasses any other sports happening on earth, including the Olympic Games. The name of this event is the Eleven Cities Tour.
