Gas has what the energy future needs. This was confirmed at the General Assembly of EUROGAS, which met today in Milan, Italy, hosted by the Italian energy company EDISON.
Eurogas generally welcomes the newly launched Energy Efficiency Plan 2011, which offers a number of pragmatic business and market oriented approaches to achieving higher levels of savings.
Eurogas draws attention to the opportunity in the energy sector for earlier and quicker reductions in the emission of greenhouse gases (GHGs) than is highlighted in yesterday’s Roadmap for moving to a competitive low carbon economy in 2050, published by the European Commission.
According to preliminary figures and estimates from Eurogas, total natural gas consumption in EU27 has increased by 7,2% in 2010 in comparison to 2009.
